MLB: Atlanta 7, Colorado 4

DENVER, July 19 (UPI) -- Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5, homered and drove in three runs Monday, propelling the Atlanta Braves to a 7-4 victory over Colorado.

Freeman unleashed a two-run home run in the third, putting Atlanta up 4-0. Eric Hinske hit a solo shot one out later for the Braves, who snapped a four-game losing streak at Coors Field.

Derek Lowe (6-7) won for the third time in four starts despite allowing four runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out two.

Jonny Venters tossed a scoreless eighth and Craig Kimbrel racked up his 29th save for the Braves, who moved 18 games over .500 (57-39) and hold a five-game lead in the National League wild-card standings.

Colorado's Jason Hammel (5-9) was touched for six runs (four earned) on eight hits over five innings.

Todd Helton drove in runs with a single and a sacrifice fly for the Rockies.
