ATLANTA, July 19 (UPI) -- Seeded players Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria and Igor Kunitsyn of Russia were ousted in first-round upsets Tuesday at the Atlanta Tennis Championships Tuesday.
Dimitrov, seeded fifth, was bounced by American qualifier Rajeev Ram 6-4, 6-4, while No. 6 Kunitsyn fell to Marinko Matosevic of Croatia 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 7-5 in a 2-hour, 50-minute match.

Australian Lleyton Hewitt posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Phillip Simmonds, and now goes on to face Ram.
Also logging first-round victories Tuesday were Nicolas Mahut, Yen-Hsun Lu and Ryan Harrison.
