CINCINNATI, July 18 (UPI) -- Cincinnati cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones pleaded not guilty Monday to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

The newspaper said Jones didn't appear in court and instead had his lawyer enter his plea to the misdemeanor counts lodged against the player following a July 10 incident at a downtown Cincinnati bar.

Court records indicated Jones allegedly had been escorted out of the bar after refusing to calm down and then jerked away from officers who attempted to handcuff him, WCPO-TV, Cincinnati, reported.

Jones, 27, said after his release from jail that he had not been drinking before police arrested him and denied cursing outside the bar and resisting arrest.

The defensive back suffered a herniated disc in his neck last season and played five games for the Bengals.

He has been slapped with multiple league suspensions and his off-the-field problems have included his alleged involvement in a Las Vegas strip club shooting in 2007.
