MLB: Florida 7, Chicago Cubs 5

CHICAGO, July 17 (UPI) -- Greg Dobbs forced in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning, bases-loaded walk Sunday and the Florida Marlins posted a 7-5 win over the Chicago Cubs.

With the score tied 4-4 in the eighth, Cubs reliever Kerry Wood (1-5) hit John Buck (3-for-3, RBI) with a pitch, walked Wes Helms and yielded a single to Emilio Bonifacio to load the bases, then issued a pass to Dobbs to put Florida ahead.

Dobbs also belted a two-run homer in the first inning and Hanley Ramirez added a solo shot in the same frame.

Edward Mujica (8-2) was credited with the victory after tossing a scoreless seventh inning. Steve Cishek and Randy Choate combined to shut down the Cubs in the eighth and Leo Nunez finished with his 26th save.

Aramis Ramirez contributed a two-run double for the reeling Cubs, who lost for the eighth time in 11 games.
