MLB: Colorado 12, Milwaukee 3

DENVER, July 15 (UPI) -- Ryan Spilborghs had four of Colorado's 20 hits Thursday, drove in four runs and scored three times in pacing the Rockies to a 12-3 blasting of Milwaukee.

Colorado slowed down a Milwaukee team that had gone into the All-Star break tied for the lead in the National League Central. The Brewers fell a half game behind idle St. Louis.

Spilborghs hit a solo homer in the first and had an RBI single during a four-run fourth inning that gave Colorado a 6-2 lead. He added a two-run double while the Rockies were scoring four more times in the seventh.

Colorado has won three out of four on the heels of a five-game losing streak.

Mark Ellis had an RBI in three different at-bats for the Rockies, whose offensive show made things easy for starter Ubaldo Jimenez.

Jimenez (5-8) allowed two runs on six hits in six innings.

Yovani Gallardo (10-6) was roughed up for six runs on 11 hits in four innings to take the loss.
