PHOENIX, July 15 (UPI) -- Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade said he was detained by Transportation Security Administration officers for 40 minutes while trying to leave Phoenix.

Quade said he was flying home Thursday night after the all-star game in Phoenix and TSA officers at Sky Harbor Airport detained him for 40 minutes, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

"I guess they thought I had a bomb or something," Quade said. "I never did tell him (my job). I don't do that. I was hoping they'd ask. … I guess one of their alarms went off. You hear about it, but now I get the full pat-down (and the question) 'Are you sensitive in any areas?'"

Quade said he was taken to a back room for an additional search and his luggage was screened multiple times.

"I was a little bit belligerent late," he said.

"I was glad I didn't end up in Tent City with Sheriff (Joe) Arpaio," Quade said, referring to Arpaio's famous tent used to house prisoners in Phoenix.

Quade said he made his flight on time.
