ATLANTA, July 14 (UPI) -- A judge has set $20,000 bail for two of four high school wrestlers charged in the sexual assault of a juvenile at a north Georgia wrestling camp.
The four teens, who have competed in state high school wrestling competitions, are charged with aggravated sexual battery in the alleged assault at Shorter University in Rome on July 8, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday.
Police said the juvenile victim, who was acquainted with the four wrestlers, told investigators the group was playing around when one of the teens held him down while others hit him.
"Another group came in and two boys held his feet and pulled down his pants" while someone tried to assault him with a toothbrush, the investigators' report said.
A wrestling coach who overheard some camp attendees talking about the incident alerted campus police who notified the Rome police department, authorities said.
The aggravated sexual battery charges carry sentences of at least 25 years and up to life in prison.
