Sweden wins Davis Cup doubles match

HALMSTED, Sweden, July 9 (UPI) -- Sweden stayed alive in the Davis Cup tournament Saturday with a quarterfinals doubles victory over Serbia in Halmsted.

Robert Lindstedt and Simon Aspelin held off Nenad Zimonjic and Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 to stave off elimination and carry the series into the reverse-singles phase Sunday.

Djokovic played Saturday after sitting out Friday's singles play with a bad knee. His status for Sunday was unclear.

He could step back in, or the Serbs could rest him further and depend on Janko Tipsarevic or Viktor Troicki to get them the one victory they need to advance to September's semifinals against Argentina.
