MLB: Minnesota 8, Chicago White Sox 5

CHICAGO, July 9 (UPI) -- Luke Hughes finished off a six-run fourth with a three-run home run Friday, rallying the Minnesota Twins to an 8-5 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Twins came back from an early four-run deficit to defeat the White Sox for the ninth straight time. Neither team scored over the final five innings.

Nick Blackburn (7-6) had dropped his previous three starts and appeared on his way to another loss when he gave up five runs in the first. He hung around for five innings, however, and got the win when Minnesota staged its rally.

Chicago managed only one hit against four Minnesota relievers. Matt Capps worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his 14th save. It was Minnesota's fifth win in six games.

The Twins faced a 5-2 deficit heading into the fourth but they loaded the bases against Gavin Floyd (6-9) on two singles and a hit batsman. Michael Cuddyer then singled in a run and Rene Tosoni's base hit brought in two more before Hughes worked the count full before delivering his two-out homer to left off reliever Will Ohman.

The White Sox, who got a two-run homer from Adam Dunn, have lost four straight.
