Argentina completes Davis Cup sweep

BUENOS AIRES, July 9 (UPI) -- Argentina formally ousted Kazakhstan from the Davis Cup quarterfinals Saturday behind victories by Juan Monaco and Juan Ignacio Chela in Buenos Aires.

Chela topped Evgeny Korolev 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 in their reverse singled match, and Monaco capped the day by beating Mikhail Kukushkin 6-4, 6-1.

The Argentines entered Saturday's play with a 3-0 lead in the series, which had clinched a berth in the semifinals against either Sweden or Serbia. The semis take place in September.
