MLS: Chivas USA 2, San Jose 0

CARSON, Calif., July 7 (UPI) -- Second-half goals by Ben Zemanski and Nick LaBrocca Wednesday boosted Chivas USA to a 2-0 win over San Jose.

Chivas halted a four-game winless streak and moved into a tie with San Jose for sixth place in the Western Conference.

Zemanski scored on a blast from 30 yards out with 25 minutes remaining and LaBrocca tallied in the 84th minute off a pass from Francisco Mendoza.

San Jose (5-6-6) has earned only two points from its last four games. Chivas (5-7-6) has a tie and a win after losing three in a row.
