MLB: Philadelphia 14, Florida 2

MIAMI, July 6 (UPI) -- Ryan Howard and Raul Ibanez led an 18-hit Phillies attack with four RBI each Tuesday and the Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a 14-2 rout of Florida.

Howard went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and three runs scored while Ibanez added three hits and a bases-empty shot for the Phillies, who scored six runs in in the ninth inning en route to their seventh straight win over Florida. Jimmy Rollins went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and Michael Martinez added a three-run triple for Philadelphia.

Cole Hamels (10-4) tossed eight strong innings for the Phillies, showing few ill effects from taking a line drive off his right (non-pitching) hand during his last start against Boston. Hamels yielded two runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out five.

Marlins starter Chris Volstad (4-8) was lit up for seven runs on nine hits in before being knocked out after four frames.

John Buck connected for a two-run homer for Florida.
