OAKLAND, Calif., July 3 (UPI) -- Gio Gonzalez threw seven innings of one-run ball and David DeJesus provided the go-ahead RBI Sunday in Oakland's 7-2 interleague win over Arizona.
Gonzalez (8-5) won for the third time in four starts, yielding only one run on five hits, working around three walks and striking out seven as the Athletics took the rubber match of a three-game series against the Diamondbacks.
Gonzalez notched the win after being selected as Oakland's All-Star Game representative earlier Sunday. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 2.31, third-best in the American League.
DeJesus (3-for-4) drove in Coco Crisp and Hideki Matsui with a fourth-inning double, putting the A's ahead for good, and Conor Jackson and Scott Sizemore each socked a solo homer in the win.
D-backs starter Ian Kennedy (8-3) was rocked for seven runs on 10 hits in a 5 2/3-inning effort.
Xavier Nady and Sean Burroughs drove in Arizona's runs.
