His 63 equaled the Club de Golf Fontainebleau record set by D.A. Weibring last year and tied Friday by John Cook and John Huston. Lu is seeking his first Champions Tour victory since joining the seniors circuit in 2010.

Cook, looking to rack up his third win this season, carded a 6-under 66, earning him sole possession of second place at 15-under 129.

Huston, meanwhile, is coming off his first senior win at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open last week. He shot a 5-under 67 to claim third place at minus-14.

Sharing fourth one shot further back were Jay Haas and Joey Sindelar, both of whom carded 66s.
