Raptors extend offer to Weems

TORONTO, June 27 (UPI) -- Restricted free agent Sonny Weems has been offered a qualifying contract deal by the Toronto Raptors.

The NBA club didn't reveal how much it will pay the guard-forward or how long the contract will run.

Weems averaged a career-best 9.2 points in 59 games last season for the Raptors, starting 28 games.

In 140 career games in three seasons with Denver and the Raptors, he has averaged 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 20.3 minutes.
