DETROIT, June 26 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera triggered an eighth-inning rally Sunday with a go-ahead, two-run single, carrying the Detroit Tigers to an 8-3 victory over Arizona.
Trailing 2-1 coming into the eighth, Detroit exploded for seven runs, sending 12 men to the plate while banging out six hits and drawing a pair of walks.
Cabrera followed by lining a single to left, plating Kelly and Wells with the tying and go-ahead runs.
Victor Martinez, Jhonny Peralta (3-for-4, solo homer) and Brandon Inge also stroked RBI singles in the big frame as the Tigers took the rubber match of their three-game interleague series against the Diamondbacks.
Al Aburquerque (5-1) was credited with the win in relief of Brad Penny, who yielded two runs on eight hits over 6 2/3 frames.
D-backs starter Joe Saunders pitched well, giving up only one run on four hits in a seven-inning effort.
Miguel Montero went 3-for-4 with an RBI single for Arizona.
