NEWTON, Iowa, June 26 (UPI) -- Marco Andretti grabbed the lead with 18 laps remaining Saturday and hung on to claim the Iowa Corn Indy 250 for his first win in nearly in five years.
Andretti, who started 17th, passed former teammate and defending Iowa race winner Tony Kanaan with 18 laps remaining and then held him off at the finish, coming in first by 0.8 seconds.
