MLB: Tampa Bay 7, Houston 2

HOUSTON, June 25 (UPI) -- Wade Davis threw seven solid innings and B.J. Upton homered and drove in two runs Saturday, staking the Tampa Bay Rays to a 7-2 victory over Houston.

Davis (7-5) won his third straight start, holding the Astros to one run on five hits over seven innings, walking one and striking out three.

Kyle Farnsworth blanked Houston on two hits over the final 1 2/3 innings to notch his 16th save as Tampa Bay clinched its three-game interleague set at Minute Maid Park.

Upton's RBI single in the third posted the Rays to a 3-0 lead and he added a solo shot in the sixth, stretching Tampa Bay's advantage to 4-1.

Casey Kotchman finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and Evan Longoria added two hits and two RBI in the Rays' win.

Astros starter Bud Norris (4-6) yielded three runs on six hits in a five-inning effort.

Carlos Lee had an RBI double among his two hits for Houston.
