MLB: New York Mets 4, Oakland 1

NEW YORK, June 23 (UPI) -- Jose Reyes drove in half of New York's runs and Chris Capuano worked six scoreless innings Thursday to bring the Mets a 4-1 victory over Oakland.

Capuano (6-7) struck out seven and threw 88 pitches through six innings before leaving the game due to shoulder soreness. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 20th save by pitching a 1-2-3 ninth.

Capuano grounded into a bases-loaded double play in the second to account for New York's first run and Reyes followed with an RBI single. Reyes singled in another run in the sixth to give the Mets a 4-0 lead.

The loss went to Graham Godfrey (1-1), who gave up four runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Two of the New York runs were unearned.

Oakland has lost two straight after winning six consecutive games.
