MLB: LA Angels 6, Florida 5 (10 inn.)

MIAMI, June 22 (UPI) -- Mark Trumbo's third hit of the game, a two-out single in the 10th, drove in Bobby Abreu Wednesday and gave the Los Angeles Angels a 6-5 win over Florida.

The Angels twice let a lead get away before handing the Marlins their 20th loss in 22 games. Florida had been attempting to win back-to-back games for the first time since May 25-26.

Abreu drew a leadoff walk in the 10th against Burke Badenhop (1-1) and moved to second on a groundout to shortstop by Vernon Wells. After Howie Kendrick struck out, Trumbo singled to center on a 2-0 pitch to break the 5-5 tie.

That gave Jordan Walden (1-1) his first major-league victory. Walden, who has made 49 relief appearances for the Angels over the last two seasons, allowed a hit in 1 2/3 shutout innings.

Michael Kohn, recalled from the minors this week, retired all three batters in the bottom of the 10th for his first save of the year and the second of his career.

Los Angeles scored four times in the third to take a 4-1 lead, with Maicer Izturis hitting a home run shot in the inning and Abreu connecting on a two-run blast.

After the Marlins rallied to tie it, Los Angeles again went in front on an RBI single in the eighth by Hank Conger. Florida once more deadlocked the game in the bottom half of the inning on a run-scoring base hit by Dewayne Wise.
