MIAMI, June 21 (UPI) -- Jared Weaver allowed one run over seven innings Monday and the Los Angeles Angels beat Florida 2-1, handing the Marlins their 11th straight loss.

Florida's horrendous June, during which they've gone 1-17, continued in their first game under interim Manager Jack McKeon, who replaced Edwin Martinez after Martinez resigned abruptly Sunday.

Weaver (9-4) joined seven other pitchers in leading the major leagues with nine wins, allowing only one run on five hits while walking one and striking out six for the Angels.

Scott Downs tossed a scoreless eighth and Jordan Walden notched his 17th save with a 1-2-3 ninth as Los Angeles improved to 3-1 on an interleague road trip against the Marlins and the New York Mets.

Torii Hunter drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, chasing home Maicer Izturis with a groundout off Steve Cishek (0-1). Hunter also supplied the Angels' other run with a sixth-inning RBI single.

Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez got a no-decision after yielding only one unearned run on eight hits in a seven-inning effort.
