MINNEAPOLIS, June 16 (UPI) -- Nick Blackburn allowed seven hits over eight innings and Michael Cuddyer hit a home run Thursday in the Minnesota Twins' 1-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

All the hits Blackburn (6-4) allowed were singles. He walked one and struck out one.

Matt Capps had two strike outs and gave up a single in the ninth while earning his ninth save.

Chicago starter Mark Buehrle (6-5) pitched even better than Blackburn, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings.

But Cuddyer cost him with a drive over the fence in left-center field. It was Cuddyer's 10th home run of the year.

The Twins had only one other runner get as far as second base.

Chicago's best chance to score was in the second inning when the White Sox had runners on second and third with one out. Adam Dunn was out on a fly to left and Gordon Beckham grounded to third.
