VIRGINIA WATER, England, June 13 (UPI) -- Luke Donald sits atop the men's world rankings as professional golf heads to the second major tournament of the year.

Donald took over the No. 1 position three weeks ago after starting the year ranked ninth and takes the top ranking into this week's U.S. Open in Bethesda, Md.

There was only one change in the Top 10 as the rankings were updated Monday. Defending U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell edged past Rory McIlroy into seventh, pushing McIlroy down a place to eighth.

Donald has a rankings points average of 9.112 with Lee Westwood in second at 8.360 and Martin Kaymer (7.287) third. Steve Stricker is fourth with an average of 6.436 ahead of fellow Americans Phil Mickelson (6.085) and Matt Kuchar (5.584).

McDowell's average is 5.459 and McIlroy comes in at 5.400. Dustin Johnson (5.084) and Paul Casey (5.073) complete the Top 10.

Charl Schwartzel, the winner of 2011's first major -- the Masters -- is 11th with an average of 5.041.

Last week's major tour winners were Harrison Frazar, who collected his first PGA title in a playoff at the St. Jude Classic, and Robert Rock, whose win at the BMW Italian Open was his first as a professional. Rock, a pro for 13 years, improved his world ranking from 165th to 111th and Frazar, a pro since1996, jumped to 144th from No. 583.
