MLB: San Francisco 3, Cincinnati 2

SAN FRANCISCO, June 11 (UPI) -- A bases-loaded single by Nate Schierholtz with two out in the ninth inning Friday gave the San Francisco Giants a 3-2 victory over Cincinnati.

The game had been deadlocked at 2-2 since the fifth inning before San Francisco scraped out a run.

Travis Wood worked the first eight innings for the Reds, but Jose Arredondo was called on in the ninth to try to get the game into 10th.

Arredondo (0-2) walked Andres Torres to open the inning and, after Emmanuel Burris laid down a sacrifice bunt, Miguel Tejada was intentionally walked.

Bill Bray relieved Arredondo and struck out Brandon Crawford. Logan Ondrusek then replaced Bray and walked Cody Ross to load the bases. Schierholtz won it by driving the ball to left field.

San Francisco closer Brian Wilson (5-1) got the win by pitching the top of the ninth.
