MLB: Tampa Bay 4, LA Angels 3 (10 innings)

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 9 (UPI) -- Reid Brignac drove in John Jaso with a sacrifice bunt in the 10th inning Wednesday and the Tampa Bay Rays held on for a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

The Rays survived an Angels threat in the bottom of the 10th to complete a three-game sweep. Kyle Farnsworth struck out Howie Kendrick with two out and the potential tying run at second to seal the victory and post his 13th save.

Brignac put Tampa Bay ahead 1-0 in the fourth inning with a solo home run off Angels starter Jered Weaver, his first homer of the season. Justin Ruggiano drove in a run in the seventh and Ben Zobrist drove in a run in the eight to give the Rays a 3-0 lead.

The Angels scored three in the bottom of the eighth when Bobby Abreau doubled with the bases loaded.

Tampa Bay starter James Shields went seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Weaver went 7 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

Juan Cruz (3-0) picked up the win in relief.

Fernando Rodney (2-3) took the loss for the Angels.
