MLB: Tampa Bay 4, Los Angeles Angels 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 8 (UPI) -- Johnny Damon had three hits, drove in a run and scored once Tuesday in the Tampa Bay Rays' 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

B.J. Upton had a solo home run in the third inning and Casey Kotchman had three hits in a 12-hit attack that gave the Rays their third win in four games and handed the Angels their fourth straight loss.

Alex Cobb (1-0) picked up his first career victory with one run on seven hits with three strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings. Kyle Farnsworth earned his 12th save.

Dan Haren (5-4) took the loss for the Angels, who have lost six of their last seven. Haren's start was pushed back from Saturday due to a tweaked back muscle.

Torii Hunter and Bobby Abreu both were 2-for-4 for Los Angeles. Hunter drove in a run in the sixth inning that cut Tampa Bay's lead to 3-1.
