BALTIMORE, June 8 (UPI) -- Mark Reynolds gave Baltimore a three-run lead in the fifth with a two-run homer Wednesday and the Orioles held on to down Oakland 3-2.
The Athletics lost their ninth straight game. Baltimore finished off its first three-game home sweep of Oakland in 13 seasons and won for the fifth time in seven contests overall.
Oakland starter Josh Outman (1-1) faced the minimum number of batters through four innings and struck out two in the fifth after giving up a leadoff single to Vladimir Guerrero. Outman then threw a wild pitch that moved Guerrero to second, from where he scored on a base hit by J.J. Hardy.
Reynolds hit Outman's next pitch over the wall in left-center.
Jemile Weeks scored both Oakland runs, coming in on a double play grounder by Daric Barton in the sixth and a sacrifice fly by Coco Crisp in the eighth.
Zach Britton (6-4) got the win by allowing a run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings. Kevin Gregg saved his 12th game with a perfect ninth.
