Jim Johnson and Koji Uehara each threw a scoreless inning of relief and Kevin Gregg picked up his 10th save despite allowing two hits in the ninth.

Ricky Romero (5-5) took the loss, allowing five runs on 11 hits in a 7 2/3-inning start for the Blue Jays.

Corey Patterson went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Toronto's loss.
