MLB: Pittsburgh 2, Philadelphia 1 (12 inn)

PITTSBURGH, June 3 (UPI) -- Jose Tabata drove in Xavier Paul from second with a two-out single in the 12th inning Friday, giving the Pittsburgh Pirates a 2-1 win over Philadelphia.

The National League East-leading Phillies lost their third straight and their fourth out of five.

Pittsburgh had a runner reach second base in the ninth, 10th and 11th innings without pushing across a run, but finally came through in the 12th against Danys Baez (1-3).

Baez retired the first two men in the inning but Paul reached on a single and stole second. Tabata then drove in the game-winning run by hitting a 3-1 pitch to right.

Philadelphia's only run came on an RBI single by Chase Utley in the fifth. Pittsburgh tied it in the bottom half of the inning on Tabata's sacrifice fly.

Daniel Moskos (1-0), called up last weekend to begin his second stint with the Pirates, earned the first win of his major league career by working the top of the 12th. He retired the side on just eight pitches.
