The right-hander ran into trouble in the eighth when Robert Andino, Felix Pie and Nick Markasis all singled to pull Baltimore to within 4-2.

Jamey Wright came in to pitch and yielded an unearned run when Vladimir Guerrero reached on a fielding error by Chone Figgins. But Matt Wieters grounded into a fielder's choice and Aaron Laffey induced Luke Scott to ground out, ending the inning.

Brandon League produced a scoreless ninth to nail down his 14th save for Seattle, which benefited from two consecutive bases-loaded walks issued by O's starter Jake Arrieta (6-3) in the third inning.

Mark Reynolds hit a solo homer for Baltimore.
