MINNEAPOLIS, May 24 (UPI) -- Jack Wilson led off the 10th inning with a single and scored on a sacrifice fly Monday, completing the Seattle Mariners' 8-7 comeback win over Minnesota.
The Mariners rallied to score the game's final four runs after falling behind 7-4 in the seventh inning, pulling out their season-best sixth straight victory in the first contest of a three-game set.
After Adam Kennedy and Ichiro Suzuki drove in runs off Joe Nathan in the eighth, Twins closer Matt Capps yielded a two-out RBI single to Carlos Peguero in the ninth as the Mariners forged a 7-7 tie.
Wilson and Miguel Olivo singled in the 10th off Anthony Swarzak (0-1), with Wilson going to third on Ichiro's sacrifice. Chone Figgins was intentionally walked and Luis Rodriguez then delivered a sacrifice fly for the lead.
Brandon League made it hold up in the bottom of the 10th, retiring the Twins 1-2-3 to rack up his 11th save. Jamey Wright (1-1) earned with win with a scoreless ninth.
Jim Thome, fresh off the disabled list, bashed two homers for reeling Minnesota, which lost its fourth straight and 13th in 16 games.
