MLB: Atlanta 2, Pittsburgh 0

PITTSBURGH, May 24 (UPI) -- Jair Jurrjens and two relievers combined for a six-hit shutout Tuesday and the Atlanta Braves blanked Pittsburgh 2-0.

Jurrjens (6-1) rebounded from his only loss of the year in his previous start, scattering six hits, walking one and striking out four in a dominating performance.

The Braves right-hander didn't allow a runner to reach third base and threw 71 of his 97 pitches for strikes as Atlanta took the first of a two-game set against the Pirates.

Jonny Venters and got the final out of the eighth inning and Craig Kimbrel tossed a 1-2-3 ninth for the Braves.

Brooks Conrad and Martin Prado drove in Atlanta's runs.

Charlie Morton (5-2) absorbed the loss for the Pirates, surrendering only two runs on seven hits over seven innings.
