MLB: LA Dodgers 6, Chi. White Sox 4 (10)

CHICAGO, May 20 (UPI) -- Juan Castro singled in the go-ahead during a long 10th inning Friday and the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to down the Chicago White Sox 6-4.

The White Sox had owned a one-run lead since the second inning but Russ Mitchell hit a one-out homer in the ninth for the Dodgers to tie it at 3-3 and force extra innings.

The teams then combined to send 13 men to the plate in the 10th, with the Dodgers scoring three times and holding on for the win after the White Sox had put their first two batters on base in the bottom half of the inning.

Chicago's Sergio Santos (2-1) came on for his second inning of work in the 10th, but gave up singles to Jamey Carroll and Matt Kemp. Castro then came through with a one-out base hit to right that drove in Carroll and snapped the tie.

James Loney followed with a double that brought home Kemp and moved Castro to third. Dioner Navarro was walked intentionally to load the bases and, after Will Ohman relieved Santos, Jay Gibbons singled home Castro with the third run of the inning.

That gave the win to Kenley Jansen (1-0), who worked both the eighth and ninth.

It took three Los Angeles relievers to nail down the victory in the bottom of the 10th, during which Adam Dunn drove in a run with a groundout.

With the potential tying run at the plate, Mike MacDougal came on to get Paul Konerko on a ground ball to end the game. It was MacDougal's first save of the season.
