MLB: Toronto 3, Tampa Bay 2

TORONTO, May 19 (UPI) -- J.P. Arencibia put Toronto in front with a two-run homer in the seventh Thursday and the Blue Jays held on to defeat Tampa Bay 3-2.

Toronto bounced back from its first loss in seven games Wednesday to win a battle of long balls. All five runs were produced by homers.

Ricky Romero (4-4) worked seven innings to get the victory, limiting Tampa Bay to a run on three hits.

Juan Rivera hit a solo homer in the second to put the Blue Jays in front and B.J. Upton tied it in the fifth with his seventh blast of the season.

Arencibia delivered his seventh of the year when he launched a drive to center after Juan Rivera had drawn a one-out walk from starter Wade Davis (4-4) in the seventh.

Tampa Bay's Kelly Shoppach completed the scoring with a home run in the eighth.

Frank Francisco came on to work a perfect ninth for his seventh save.
