TORONTO, May 17 (UPI) -- The Toronto Raptors said Tuesday President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo has been given a multiyear contract extension.

Colangelo, whose pact was set to expire at the end of next month, has failed to reach the post-season in the last three years.

The Raptors went 47-35 in his first season at the helm in 2006-07, when he was named the NBA's Executive of the Year, and went 41-41 the next year.

The team made first-round playoff exits both times.

"Bryan and the board worked closely to help create a winning plan for the Raptors and today the board gave Bryan their 100 percent support to continue the rebuilding job he started this year," Raptors CEO Richard Peddie said.
