MLB: Pittsburgh at Washington, ppd., rain

WASHINGTON, May 17 (UPI) -- Tuesday's game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Washington Nationals was postponed because of predictions of heavy rain in Washington.

Playing conditions were good at the scheduled 1:05 p.m. start of the game but forecasts called for storms, some heavy, through the afternoon. The Washington area is under a flash flood watch because of the expected downpours.
