ARLINGTON, Texas, May 15 (UPI) -- Chris Davis homered and drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Sunday, boosting the Texas Rangers to a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
Davis socked a solo homer in the fourth that gave the Rangers a 4-1 lead, but the Angels battled back to tie the score on three RBI from Erick Aybar.
In the eighth, Adrian Beltre and David Murphy drew walks from Rich Thompson (1-2) and Mark Napoli singled to load the bases. Hisanori Takahashi came on to pitch and Davis poked an 0-2 pitch into right field, scoring Beltre for a 5-4 Texas lead.
Mark Lowe (1-0) was credited with the victory after inducing Maicer Izturis to foul out to end the eighth, stranding Alexi Amarista at third.
Neftali Feliz earned his eighth save with a scoreless ninth.
Ian Kinsler went 4-for-4 with a run scored and Elvis Andrus added two hits for the Rangers.
Aybar went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and a two-run single for the Angels.
