HOUSTON, May 14 (UPI) -- Carlos Lee collected his 2,000 career hit and added a solo homer Saturday, powering the Houston Astros to a 7-3 victory over the New York Mets.
Lee reached the milestone with a first-inning single.
Bill Hall and Matt Downs also homered and Hall added an RBI single to cap a four-run, first-inning outburst for the Astros, who evened their three-game series with the Mets at one win apiece.
J.A. Happ (3-4) went six innings, yielding two runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out four for Houston, which won for only the third time in 10 games.
Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (1-5) absorbed the loss, surrendering 11 hits in only 5 1/3 innings for six runs.
Daniel Murphy socked a solo homer and Jose Reyes had an RBI for the Mets.
