ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 13 (UPI) -- Jeremy Hellickson gave up four hits while throwing his first career shutout Friday, carrying the Tampa Bay Rays to a 3-0 victory over Baltimore.
Hellickson (4-2), in his 11th career start, walked one and struck out three. He led the Rays to their seventh win in eight games. He also threw five shutout innings against the Orioles last Saturday in an 8-2 triumph.
All of the Tampa Bay runs came on homers -- a two-run shot by Matt Joyce in the second and a solo blast from Johnny Damon in the eighth.
Jeremy Guthrie (1-6) also went the distance for the Orioles, giving up the three runs on seven hits and striking out five.
Baltimore was coming off a three-game sweep of Seattle.
