MLB: St. Louis 6, Milwaukee 0

ST. LOUIS, May 6 (UPI) -- Jaime Garcia took a perfect game into the eighth Friday and eventually allowed two hits while going the distance to boost St. Louis past Milwaukee 6-0.

Garcia (4-0) retired the first 22 men he faced before issuing a one-out walk to Casey McGehee in the eighth. Yuniesky Betancourt then broke up the no-hit bid with a single to left but Corey Hart ended the threat by grounding into a double play.

Garcia gave up a two-out double in the ninth to Rickie Weeks before completing his second shutout of the season and the third of his career. He struck out eight.

Albert Pujols drove in half the St. Louis runs, delivering a sacrifice fly in the third and a two-run single in the fourth.

Yadier Molina had a fourth-inning solo homer.

Randy Wolf (3-3) took the loss, surrendering six runs on seven hits in five innings.
