LAS VEGAS, May 6 (UPI) -- Las Vegas prosecutors have charged boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. with threatening two security guards at his gated community last fall.

Mayweather was charged Thursday in Clark County with two misdemeanor counts of threatening bodily injury in the October incident at the Southern Highlands development.

Prosecutors said the guards were writing tickets for vehicles Mayweather had parked in the street in violation of a neighborhood rule. Mayweather allegedly warned them he had friends with guns who would retaliate against them.

The Las Vegas Sun said the confrontation came a month before the five-time world champ allegedly poked his finger in the face of another guard writing tickets for improperly parked cars.
