MLS: Philadelphia 1, San Jose 0

CHESTER, Pa., April 30 (UPI) -- Sebastien Le Toux scored on a penalty kick in the 76th minute Saturday and the Philadelphia Union hung on for a 1-0 decision over San Jose.

Philadelphia's Amobi Okugo tried to play the ball across the 6-yard box after being forced to the end line, but the referee ruled it was blocked by a handball.

That set up a penalty shot for Le Toux, who easily scored for the Union (4-1-1), who continued their hot start with their fourth shutout in six games.

The Union won despite playing short-handed the entire second half after Jordan Harvey was issued a red card for an altercation with San Jose defender Chris Leitch.

The Earthquake fell to 1-4-2.
