CLEVELAND, April 27 (UPI) -- Orlando Cabrera's three-run double highlighted a five-run first inning Wednesday that sent the Cleveland Indians coasting past Kansas City 7-2.
After losing three in a row, Cleveland has defeated the Royals in the first two meetings of a three-game series. Kansas City has dropped five straight to fall back to .500.
Josh Tomlin (4-0) benefited from the quick start to get the win. He allowed two runs -- coming on homers by Jeff Francoeur and Mike Aviles -- on five hits over six innings.
Jeff Francis (0-3) started for the Royals and gave up a one-out single in the first to Asdrubal Cabrera. Shin-Soo Choo and Shelley Duncan also singled to load the bases and a base hit by Travis Hafner brought home the first run of the inning.
Orlando Cabrera followed and cleared the bases with his double. A single by Jack Hannahan drove in Cabrera.
Francis gave up 10 hits over three innings.
