MLB: Chicago White Sox 3, N.Y. Yankees 2

NEW YORK, April 26 (UPI) -- Paul Konerko bashed a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning Tuesday, powering the Chicago White Sox to a 3-2 win over the New York Yankees.

With one out in the eighth, Yankees reliever Rafael Soriano (1-1) hit Carlos Quentin with a pitch. The next batter, Konerko, pounded a 1-1 pitch into the left-field stands, allowing the White Sox to erase a 2-1 deficit.

Sergio Santos earned his second save after coming in with two on and one out in the ninth and retiring Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano, preserving Chicago's second straight win over the Yankees.

Chicago starter Gavin Floyd (3-1) limited New York to two runs on four hits over eight innings, walking one and striking out 10.

Cano and Brett Gardner each hit solo homers for the Yanks.

New York starter Ivan Nova went 6 1/3 innings, surrendering only one run on five hits in a no-decision.
