Former baseball All-Star Everett arrested

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 26 (UPI) -- Former Major League Baseball player and two-time All-Star Carl Everett has been arrested in Florida and charged with domestic violence, authorities said.

Everett, 39, was taken into custody at his home in Lutz, Fla., Monday night and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with a witness, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

Everett, originally from Tampa, had a 14-year career in the major leagues, playing for a number of teams including the Seattle Mariners, Florida Marlins and the Chicago White Sox, winning a World Series ring in 2005 with the Sox.
