NBA: Boston 101, New York 89

NEW YORK, April 24 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett's 26 points Sunday helped Boston hold off New York 101-89 and wrap up the Celtics' four-game sweep of their first-round playoff series.

Garnett added 10 rebounds. Rajon Rondo contributed 21 points and 12 assists for the Celtics, who built a 23-point lead and then withstood a Knicks rally to post the 4-0 Eastern Conference quarterfinal series victory.

Glen Davis scored 14 points off the bench and Ray Allen also put in 14 for Boston, which shot 49.4 percent from the floor and outrebounded New York 53-42.

Carmelo Anthony pumped in 32 points to go with nine rebounds and Amare Stoudemire provided 19 and 12 for the Knicks, who were playing without injured guard Chauncey Billups.
