PITTSBURGH, April 24 (UPI) -- Michael Morse pounded a three-run homer among his three hits Sunday and the Washington Nationals bested Pittsburgh 6-3.
Morse's blast highlighted a four-run Nationals uprising in the third inning that put them up 4-1.
Adam LaRoche drove in runs with a solo homer and an RBI groundout and Danny Espinoza went 3-for-5 with a run scored for Washington, which evened its three-game series with Pittsburgh at one win apiece and ended a three-game skid.
Jason Marquis (2-0) collected the victory, giving up three runs on eight hits over six innings. The right-hander yielded two walks while striking out two.
Bucs starter Kevin Correia (3-2) was roughed up for five runs on 11 hits over only 4 2/3 innings.
Pittsburgh fell for the fourth time in five games.
