All four players missed the green with their approach shots. But while Eger and McNulty recovered for par, Hoch missed a 3-foot par putt and Perry misfired on an 18-inch putt, handing the win to Eger and McNulty.

The latter pair charged back from a four-stroke deficit to begin the day, firing an 11-under 61 to finish at 27-under 189.

Hoch and Perry shot a 64 to force the playoff.

Finishing tied for third at minus-26 were Russ Cochran/Mark Wiebe, Michael Allen/David Frost, Tom Lehman/Corey Pavin, Joe Ozaki/Ian Baker-Finch and Keith Fergus/Wayne Levi.
