MLB: Milwaukee 14, Houston 7

MILWAUKEE, April 23 (UPI) -- A three-run homer by Ryan Braun put Milwaukee in front in the third inning Friday and the Brewers pounded out 18 hits to crush Houston 14-7.

Milwaukee scored in every inning from the second through the seventh, breaking things open with a four-run sixth that featured a two-run double by Casey McGehee and a two-run single from Marc Kotsay.

Carlos Gomez then added a three-run blast in the seventh.

Yovani Gallardo (2-1) got the win despite allowing four runs on eight hits over six innings. He struck out seven and walked only one.

Nelson Figueroa (0-3) suffered the loss after giving up six runs on six hits with five walks in four innings.

Houston had 14 hits, including three each by Michael Bourn, Brett Wallace and Humberto Quintero.
