MLB: LA Dodgers 12, Chicago Cubs 2

CHICAGO, April 22 (UPI) -- Juan Uribe hit a two-run homer and drove in four runs overall Friday, and the Los Angeles Dodgers pounded out 14 hits in blasting the Chicago Cubs 12-2.

The Dodgers scored six times in the third inning, allowing starter Chad Billingsley to coast to an easy victory. Both Uribe and Billingsley had an RBI single during the big third inning, which was highlighted by a two-run base hit from A.J. Ellis.

Uribe added a two-run homer in the fourth and had a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Marcus Thames contributed a two-run blast in the Dodgers' three-run ninth inning.

Billingsley (2-1) allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. Los Angeles won its third straight.

Casey Coleman (1-1) was touched for six runs on six hits while walking four. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings.

Rain delayed the start of the game for 74 minutes. The Dodgers' Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a single in the third.
